Consumer Law

Our clients value our consumer law advice. We act for leading multiple retailers in the clothing, consumer goods, hardware and pharmaceutical sectors.

We advise on consumer credit legislation, payment protection insurance, consumer guarantees, product liability issues, advertising and unfair contract terms. The Consumer Credit Act, 1995 is important legislation regulating the provision of credit or the leasing of goods in return for a commission or payment from the provider of the credit or the owner. We have also advised on the implementation of credit card schemes.

We provide our clients with in-depth advice on the data protection legislation, product designations issues, product standards and trade mark usage. For many of our clients, restrictions on the sale of certain goods and the Consumer Information Act, 1978 which deals with accurate indications of price and product labelling are everyday issues on which we are consulted.
